When I tried out my Basic Korean at the front desk of this hotel I provoked a rather
embarrassing reaction. The hotel is cheap and not far from sex workers in the streets, the
rooms equipped with huge condom distributors. So I was asking in Korean (since nobody
understands English) whether this is a so-called love hotel . The guy from the desk grabbed
the telephone and wanted to order some special service for me. Aniyo, Aniyo, NO, NO,
NO, this is not what I want. I donšt want somebody to come here... I just wanted to know
what kind of place I am in, since it is noisy and kind of special --- (see one of the pictures
