Issued on January 10, 1998
Since the Acteal Massacre in Chiapas, Mexico, on December 22, 1997, there
have been at least 90 protest actions in at least 50 cities or towns, in 13
countries and 4 continents around the world. The information presented
below, extracted from Chiapas95 messages, clearly shows there is a
worldwide web of resistance to the Mexican government and in support of
indigenous peoples in Chiapas.
