: :Is the term "REVOLT" actually the best choice of term?

Yesterday, I was at the FANON conference... something interesting occurred:

nobody really knew how to address the aspect of violence.

until one Algerian woman did: but not so much in reference to Fanon, but in reference to politics:

violence as a legitimate use of force to counter violence

I liked the fact that it came up because it made me feel chilly ... at least

and of course, it was a very interesting aspect nobody knew to respond...

so the word REVOLT doesn't really mean much.. it is over stressed...
and in kristeva's book, violence doesn't really play any role...

of course, we are just a ridiculously small group of more or less powerless readers (not to confuse with the word 'leaders') who usually encounter violence only in a passive way: structural violence or direct violence directed against us...

of course, kristeva doesn't even use the word "revolution" once in her book... to my knowledge....

and revolution is a model that assumes a systematic and ideological superstructure that is worth to be discussed....

revolt is usually something spontaneous that doesn't do too much...but immediate destruction...

often it results in reinforcing the power of the status quo
