Madame Kristeva is more and more often invited to speak
about art. In these instances she projects a lot of her
psychoanalytical theory in an almost trival way onto the
arts and her audience that is more or less excited.
Unfortunately, it doesn't go beyond a rather banal and
common sense oriented understanding of the arts in which
she sees not much more than the expression of beauty or the
emanation of the new "maladies de l'âme": psychosis and
autism.
