CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR BOOK

THE ART OF THE X-FILES

Have you seen the television show, THE X-FILES? Do you
consider yourself a fan?

If so and you are interested in the show, Chris Carter (the
creator of the series) is putting together a book, which will
perhaps be turned into an exhibition, called The Art of the
X-Files.

The book comes out of the fact that THE X-FILES has had such a
major impact on contemporary culture, especially on the visual style
of television. The book takes the exploration of the show's visual
impact a step further by asking artists and designers who have become
interested in the show to respond to it.

Twentieth Century Fox is affiliated with Harper Collins
publishers, a division of which -- Harper Prism -- is publishing this book.
Harper Prism has, in turn, hired Lookout to package the book. Lookout is a
visual book packager known for their engaging photography and art
books as well as for visual books on popular culture.

Chris Carter will be selecting the final 50 to 75 artists. If
interested, please send three slides of your work to: Lookout at 1024
Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10018. If you don't wish to send slides,
send a disc (PC-based, not MAC) or an output from computer.
All work will be presented and Chris Carter will make the final
decision.

DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF SLIDES:
Friday, February 28 in Lookout Offices, 1024 Avenue of the
Americas, NYC 10018

Any questions: Call Kathy Brew
Daytime/business: 212-560-4965 (thru 2/28 only)
e-mail: brew@wnet.org (thru 2/28 only)

If selected artists must create a flat piece of work (photograph,
drawing, painting, computer art, etc.) The art works will be
returned to the artists at the end of the project. Artists each receive $200.
Artists must supply a short bio and statement about their piece
and how it relates to The X-Files.

Twentieth Century Fox will donate a% of its profits to Pediatric
Diabetes Foundation and Chris Carter will personally match that
amount.
