Red Red Meat have always been able to turn a bad mood into an interesting vocal style, but here you could say it becomes a new development in grunge. Where a band like Codeine slows things down so that every guitar strum seems to come after a thoughtful pause, Red Red Meat seem sluggish from some kind of perpetual Percodan hang-over, nodding softly into acoustic stretches only to wake up loud and nasty.
They pull it together on Bunny Gets Paid.
